Entries for the 2009 contest are no longer being accepted. Winners will be announced in September 2010. A new contest round will also begin in the fall.
PRIZE CATEGORIES
Most Accurate - Clean cuts and a finished carving that closely matches the original pattern are the goal. Put away the chainsaw, get out the scalpel. Achieving this with a complex design is also a plus.
Best Photography - A clear, properly lit photo is ideal. Props, special lighting and a unique settings are a bonus. Check the photo tips page for suggestions.
Most Creative - Expand on the ZP patterns. Place your pumpkins in an unusual location. Show off your carvings in non-traditional way. Think outside the coffin!
Largest Quantity - Recruit an army to assist in the carving, and fill the yard. Or neighborhood. Or city. Winner is the one with the most visible ZP jack o' lanterns in one place.
Best Costume with Carving - Wear your Halloween costume and pose with a pumpkin that matches the character or theme. (such as a Ghostbuster with a Stay Puft pumpkin).
Children's Carving - Photograph your proud little sprout with their carving (done with minimal help from mom and dad). To be fair, this will be a random drawing from eligible entries (age 12 and under). You must mention your child's age next to their name when submitting the photo.
Cream of the Crop -
One submission will rise to the top of the heap, a cut above the rest.
This award will go to the entry that aims for many of the previously mentioned
traits and then goes beyond.
