I pulled it out to watch it for 2012 ...I try so HARD to like this movie, I really do. The HM at Disneyland has been my favorite thing there since I was like..2 years old. I just feel it's so cheesy (and usually I love cheesy) and not at all like the story and the delicious spookiness of the Haunted Mansion. It just doesn't have the essence. (and usually I love Eddie Murphy, but I can't stand him in this movie at all!)

I want a do over. I mean, look what they did with Pirates of the Caribbean!!! Maybe the HM movie needs Johnny Depp???!!!

Never seen the Eddie Murphy movie, but I haven't heard great things.

What has me interested... apparently Guillermo Del Toro has plans for a complete redo of a Disney's Haunted Mansion movie. In his hands, I have hopes. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this gets made.
