I've been wanted to make this costume for a while now. A costume to pay homage to my favorite baddie from the Super Mario Brothers games...the Shy Guy. More specifically, though, a Shy Guy from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (in Super Mario Bros. 2 there are only red and pink Shy Guys, the green don't appear until Yoshi's Island, and I don't have a red hoodie, so green it was).

All I really needed to make was the mask. I used 6mm thick craft foam (that Foamies stuff) as a base. I made some strategic cuts to allow me to create the necessary curvature, and covered the while thing with white duct tape. I then used a lacy black fabric to black-out the eyes and mouth. I made the tie string from braided jute.
