I was in the spirit of halloween store yesterday and someone was wearing the green suit. Come up from behind me and scared the crap outta me. I would like to get one but they were all sold out.

Those look like pretty accurately sized hedgehog spikes. How did you go about making this, did you modify an existing Sonic headpiece?

Yes I did indeed. I modified the pre-order bonus from Sonic Colors ®
(oddly enough I still down own the game).

I got this from my cousin who has a friend that works in a GameStop ®. He had spare head pieces left over, so he gave it to my cousin, who in turn gave it to me.

I modified it as follows:

I took blue bristol board, cut saw tooth shapes (two of them at the same length). I then proceded to line them up at the highest point on the arc of the saw tooth shapes.

After they were lined up, I duck taped them together (since glue wouldn't bond well enough), then duck taped them to the head piece.

The two middle quills are taped together, as should be seen in pic 2 (is not shown, but should be). Then I fitted them and taped them as I did in the previous step.

I still have two more to make for his back. This is going to be GREAT!!

Plus, I have a new pic for you all to look at :)

I nose what you are looking at. :)

I'm just relieved that you didn't take that picture whilst sat on the toilet.

What's the nose made of?

The nose is made out of some relatively cheap foam that I bought at Micheals. It's fastened by some black electrical tape.

Shocking isn't it. :)

You've already perfected the smile as it matches your t shirt.

that vid was awesome, I really wish I could make stuff like that! Nice find Nos :)=

SS are you going to make the gold rings?
Maybe, no real place to store them though. I am struggling with the peach colored front he has right now. I will have to find something to cover it.

Not much time left!

For those of you un-aware, Sonic is celebrating his 20th aniversary this year!

And needless to say, thats the reason I did this costume! Well, not the ONLY one.

This costume is SOOO comfy, you don't even know it until you wear it. The wind cuts through it like a knife, but I hardly felt it since I love the cold.

You can also see Silas from this post as he floats in the air.

I seriously had fun doing this, and for anyone interested, Sonic Generations is the game to get! It was made in honour of the 20th aniversary as well!

Hope you like this, and thanks for looking!

You are a brave man. Hehe. I'd say you pulled off the Sonic look quite well. No doubt about who you are supposed to be. I have a feeling this costume brought happy smiles to the faces of some, and struck horror into the eyes of others. In that sense, this is perhaps the best overall costume idea you could have gone with. :) I just hope you didn't have to use the bathroom once you encased yourself in blue.
