here in Germany most of the people buy pumkins in september. Now you can very much pumpkins see in the streets, the people take them to showcase of the austere. But only a few people carve them on halloween.
I buyed my pumpkin in august. So I found pretty pumkings for carving

Yep - my english isn´t the best :/

I start buying as soon as I see them for sale. I keep them in my kitchen and never have a problem with them as long as they are in good shape to begin with. If I wait to buy any the price goes up and the selection goes down.

I buy in late September/early October for standard carvers, then branch out to local patches for heirloom/odd ones.

Whenever I have to urge to run through my yard naked, I drink some Windex. It keeps me from streaking.
