I find a really cool way to light up the pumpkins is the range of bike lights on the market.

You can get LED lights that flash orange or blue.
You can get red blinking bike lights with 2 or 3 settings.

Beyond bike lights, celophane coverings or glow sticks work too.

If it's available in your area, you should try the new LED color changing pumpkin light. While they don't work as well in pumpkins using shaved or sculpted areas, it looks great in traditional cut-out patterns. I picked mine up at our local Party City. You can also find them on eBay or at http://www.pumpkinlights.com/home.asp

Happy carving!

Yeah, I had to go on ebay and get those colour changing lights as they dont do then over here in the UK. I finally got them on saturday and they seem to work really well on simpler designs. They look really cool but I think I'll stick to candles for the intricate carvings.

I like the idea of the bike light though, and there is always glow sticks I s'pose.
