Great Ideas! I especially like the idea about dyeing the carved areas. This would allow me to shave the pumpkin, since this is the technique that I am most comfortable with. I am headed out now to buy a practice pumpkin! Hope it shows blue when lit....I've also purchased a blue LED christmas lights as a back up or in addition to the dye. So excited to see my nephew's face when he actually has a blue Thomas! You guys are all great and I am so appreciative of the responses and ideas. I've been using ZP patterns for years but this is the first time I've ever used the forums and I am so glad I did! :D
