I bought a pumpkin today and it seems to be leaking from under the stalk, almost like it's seriously juicy and is overflowing. I'm not sure if this means this 'kin is dying or if it's salvageable or if I should just carve it now and that way it's not been wasted.

What are everyone's thoughts? Has anyone ever come across this before?

I'd take it back and swap it as any moisture doesn't bode we'll. Never seen that before though.

Thats exactly what I discovered on one of my kins today. It means its rotting just under the stalk. I think you'll have difficulty keeping it until November. I had to take the stalk off mine and scoop out the mush before it went too far. I think it will hold up till next week. I just hope no more go the same way.

Ohhh this is true!! Sometimes I don't see it any other way!!

I've had two like this. Oddly enough both this year. Only difference is mine was INSIDE the stem working its way down. Had a funky smell too. No idea how to explain it, just carve it!
