BBC and PBS have made a modern, updated version of Sherlock Holmes. Its been broadcast over here and is due to air on PBS in October I think.

I thought it was great. Sherlock himself was superb as was Watson who was deftly underplayed.

Moriarty was strangely portrayed but I liked the feel overall. Not helped by the fact that a few weeks earlier I had seen the same actor play Paul Mc Cartney in the drama, "Imagine" about John Lennon. I was half expecting Christopher Ecclestone who played a really convincing Lennon to have a "Love-In" with Doctor Watson.

Anyway, only 3 episodes made but new series promises to be darker and have a more, spooky, sinister edge.

Thought it was absolutely cracking. Great TV :)

I agree about Moriarty, but overall really really enjoyed it :)

Merely seemed to me that they were making him as young as the new "kid" dr who in order to pull in a very youthful audience, seemed to lack bbc quality overall, hardly recogniseable as bbc if it werent for the fact it was on..the bbc.

I'll read a book.
