Is there a way to make it show you can upload an avatar directly from your PC hard drive instead of having to post it on the web first and then linking the URL

Don't think that's possible with the current setup. But I may be updating the forum software in the near future, so I'll try to add that option.

In the meantime, if you can't (or don't want to) upload your custom avatar image to a file hosting site, you can email it to me if you want, and I can host it for you.

Though it would be handy instead of uploading it's really not that hard
