My Funkins carvings

Post by twinz3950 » Wed Aug 27, 2008 2:45 pm

I like funkins over Michaels brand pumpkin because they look real. Michaels look fake. Carving with funkins takes a little more time.I Glue the pattern right to the pumpkin. I Then trace it out with 1/32 drill bit. Be sure not to go to deep when tracing. Next i just use a array of carving and engraving bits. 106,107,108. to shade the pumpkins. Every so often i put a light in it to see how it looks while i am working.

Here are some funkins i carved. the last one is a michaels.

They all look wonderful! I had a Dremel tool (with accessories) but it got misplaced and lost. I sure would have liked to have tried my hand at using it to carve this year.
