Just don't drink and carve. :P

Nice collection there. Good variety. But as for the deformed lumpy one... don't you know that the neglected ugly pumpkins left uncarved come back to life next year as Zombie Pumpkins!? Leave pumpkins un-gutted at your own risk.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your first ZP carving! I love that you've been using the stencils for other projects. Have you submitted any photos of your work for the Beyond the Pumpkins gallery? I'd love to see your crafty stuff. :)

I bought some pumpkins

I don't usually start carving my pumpkins until a few days before Halloween. Looks like my hand will be sore by the time this weekend is over: http://www.zombiepumpkins.com/img/forum/14pumpkinssmall.jpg I haven't had a chance to really decide which stencils I want to carve. So without being certain ...

Great work ZombieFlyBoy. I'm a Romero fan myself, and hope to do ALL the recognizable stenches from his "Dead" films eventually. I hoped to get some done this season, but they have alluded me this time. Next year there will be more zombie zombie pumpkins!

fog/mist from inside your pumpkin

Some Halloween/party shops carry these little misters. It's a small unit that you place in a bowl of water. It creates a flowing mist which looks pretty cool. Sorta like dry ice, but safer. LED lights attached to the mister light up the fog it creates. I haven't tried it out inside a pumpkin yet, bu...

Thanks guys. :) The Unique Creations are my favorites too. The famous movie characters are what a lot of people come here for, but I have the most fun coming up with the original Halloweeny creatures. There's no pressure to make it look like anyone specific. I can just run with any warped images tha...

I'm just surprised that the parents let you wave real light sabers around the kids. You could put an eye out or something.

James Earl Jones provided the voice of Mufasa in The Lion King, as well as the voice of Darth Vader in the Star Wars films. Therein lies the connection I believe Taber was hinting at. And... moving on...

I trick-or-treated for more years that I probably should have, so I try to be nice to the teens, especially if they make the effort and have a decent costume. Maybe some don't have the money or the creativity gene, but I like to think you can make something out of household items. Wear PJs and put y...

Pretty much. The foam is harder than a pumpkin, so it sure takes some elbow grease to saw through it. It also makes a lot of foam dust. I'd rather clean up pumpkin guts than breathe in foam. Funkins are more prone to breaking that a real pumpkin. When poking out the cut pieces of a real one, the pum...

Bag-o-lanterns

Another great use for stencils are paper bag lanterns. Luminarias. These instructions come from Ready Made magazine (which featured a Zombie Pumpkins stencil last year). Ingredients: Spooky doodle or stencil, paper bags, cardboard, light-colored paper, sand, votive candle or glass jar and candle. To...

No costume, no candy

Here's another question: Do you give candy to anyone that comes to the door on Halloween night? Have you ever tried to deny a treat to someone for reasons like "You don't even have a costume" or "You're 7 feet tall, you're obviously too old to be ringing my doorbell." For the most part, I think tric...
