Well now, you want to keep them cold. The warmer they stay the quicker they rot. I would just bring them in about an hour or so before you carve.

I use scotch tape.But If the pumpkin is really cold the scotch tape won't stick. Sometimes I use pushpins to tack it on and that works good too. Or sewing pins. :lol:

I use dremel bits #106, #107 for shading. I smooth it out with #405 #405 http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/NiceRottie/Pumpkins/dremel405a.gif 405 wears out real quick so you have to be real careful. I also use a 1/32" for cut through. Thats absolutely adorable!!!! I like the shadded effect on the melons rather than cut through. And its never too late to show off your melons! :lol:

For real pumpkins, I use fabric transfer paper that I buy at a craft store. Joann's, Michales, ect...

I have tons of pumpkins out around here. I bought 2 regular ones , a white one and an apple gord. My friends son brought me 2 big ones on top of that. One of which I carved for him already! So exciting! :lol:

Of course there is nothing like using candles in real pumpkins, but I try to preserve them a little bit and use light bulbs. Wow your work is amazing!!! Ok well if you were doing pumpkin stencils, I love 'bad fish' and 'jason vs. predator'. But 'The skeleton 2' is probably my favorite. Im an x-ray tech student so I love bones! :D

I like to glue the patterns on the fake pumpkins and use fabric transfer paper on real pumpkins. :lol:
