Well now, you want to keep them cold. The warmer they stay the quicker they rot. I would just bring them in about an hour or so before you carve.

I use scotch tape. But If the pumpkin is really cold the scotch tape won't stick. Sometimes I use pushpins to tack it on and that works good too. Or sewing pins.
I use dremel bits #106, #107 for shading. I smooth it out with #405 #405 http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/NiceRottie/Pumpkins/dremel405a.gif 405 wears out real quick so you have to be real careful. I also use a 1/32" for cut through. But be gentle its tiny! 1/32" http://i43.photobucket.com/alb...
Thats absolutely adorable!!!! I like the shadded effect on the melons rather than cut through. And its never too late to show off your melons!
I look at as an extra hour to carve and set up!
For real pumpkins, I use fabric transfer paper that I buy at a craft store. Joann's, Michales, ect...
I have tons of pumpkins out around here. I bought 2 regular ones , a white one and an apple gord. My friends son brought me 2 big ones on top of that. One of which I carved for him already! So exciting!
Speaking a scary clowns, how about the lovely characters from the movie Killer Clowns From Outer Space! Love that idea! I loved that movie when I was a kid and I think some of those characters would make great patterns!!!!! I personally dont care for ICP but theres no need to be ignorant. The album...
Aloha! Welcom aboard! You will love it here. And yes lots of 'familiar' faces!
I love your avatar!
Of course there is nothing like using candles in real pumpkins, but I try to preserve them a little bit and use light bulbs. I use the Rainbow color changing light and the strobe lights in the cut through patterns and on shaded patterns I bought in the x-mas section at wallmart... http://i43.photobu...
Those totally remind me of the Garbage Pail Kids stickers....anyone remember those? WOW Now THAT was strange! Thats the first thing I thought of and when I went to post it, you already did. Freaky. Anyhoo yes, I still have some around here somewhere. I still have some unopened with the gum ...
Wow your work is amazing!!! Ok well if you were doing pumpkin stencils, I love 'bad fish' and 'jason vs. predator'. But 'The skeleton 2' is probably my favorite. Im an x-ray tech student so I love bones!
I like to glue the patterns on the fake pumpkins and use fabric transfer paper on real pumpkins.
Soak it in hot water and it will peel right off.
Glue the pattern right on with elmers glue! Heres one I did awhile back... http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/NiceRottie/Pumpkins/pics2.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/NiceRottie/Pumpkins/pics033.jpg http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e394/NiceRottie/Pumpkins/charmin2.jpg
