Love the haunted house pattern. Too bad Halloween was all but eliminated, in this region, this year.

Before I knew about ZP's kit, I made my own http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c362/gigatron_2000/Pumpkins/ToolSet.jpg The 3 on the bottom, are for real pumpkins. They're made from Bosch jigsaw blades (for wood) and hand-carved wooden dowels. I also use the X-acto keyhole saw, in the the top row, for...

I love how the three of these just "work" together. Almost like they're all part of a larger pattern.

Anyone else ever make their own carving tools?

Hey guys, When I got into "serious" pumpkin carving last year, I used a real pumpkin and one of those stencil/tool sets you can get, well, pretty much everywhere, this time of year. It had a scoop, 2 little saws and a plastic awl. Well, after my one and only pumpkin, the awl and both saws, were brok...

Peppermint oil seems to detract most varmint - at least the garbage pickers (racoons, possum, etc.).

Though my trusty Daisy Powerline 856, BSA scope and a few RWS SuperDomes, seem to make right quick work of them, as well. Especially when they start gnawing a new hole into the attic.

I was really kinda hoping that a Freddy glove was going to reach up out of the water and drag the Jason pumpkin into the lake, like an homage to the end of Freddy Vs. Jason

I've never had great luck with a pounce wheel personally. Maybe the ones I've tried didn't have a small enough disc on the end to navigate details. But with sharp curves, I feel like I'm more accurate with a tool that has a single point for tracing (like a pen on transfer paper). With more intricat...

Thanks, guys 8)

Nos, the light in this one is some cheap, battery powered, LED pumpkin light. It's just a super bright white.

I'd love to find a corded bulb, that gives off the same pure white. Most bulbs are listed as "soft white", which has more yellow, to them.

Thanks guys 8) This one was a bit of challenge. The foam was a little too flexible at points, so there was some breakage and mis-cuts - but nothing some superglue couldn't fix :) . Some of the radial cuts were tough, too. I may use a drill for the round corners, next time. Now, it's time to start th...

Hey guys, I know a lot of people already have their favorite way of transfering patterns to the pumpkins. Some people use Saral paper, other use adhesive-backed paper, and I'm sure there are other methods as well. So, I'm just going to throw my method out there http://www.micromark.com/3-piece-pounc...

Nice job, Sonic 2. I`m trying to conserve on Saral, Its A LOT of paper for little stars. As to this point, you should look into one of these http://www.micromark.com/3-piece-pounce-wheel-set,6668.html. They're made for transfering paper patterns on to other mediums. All you do is tape your pattern, ...

Nos, I am absolutely intent on goading responses. That's called a discussion. It's how changes get made. Not by everyone agreeing with each other, with no reasoning behind it. Goading responses is most definitely not a discussion. A discussion involves an exchange of opinion. You seem unwilling to ...

For the record, I don't hate anyone, or this forum. If I did, I wouldn't be trying, so dang hard, to make things better, for all of us - from the person that buys a $5 package, all the way up to Ryan's charity. Change doesn't happen by accident. It takes work and perseverence. Ryan isn't going to kn...
