 Cream of the Crop: Tasha
The 2002 prize went to Tasha for her Ozzy and Yoda carvings. Huge pumpkins, clean carvings, creative candle displays, and even a step by step photo essay of her experience.
"We are getting closer to Halloween!!! So I had to get another pumpkin done. I thought I'd do Jim Morrison, but then I changed my mind. Plus I've got a great inspiration. This is me watching Star Wars Episode 2."
"And the pumpkin... I gotta remember to tell Keith next time he goes pumpkin shopping, that I don't need the biggest pumpkin in the neighborhood. Because size matters. Too big is not good. We are talking about pumpkins, by the way."
"Today I discovered that I have a lot of different knives. That will make my carving a lot easier. I guess it must be the blond hair... because last time I was using just one knife and a LOT of patience."
"Here you go! Pick one. :) I'll go for the biggest one, and here is the reason:"
"I mean look how thick this damn thing is!!! Really!!! And this is just the beginning."
"This is one more reason I never wanted to be in the medicine field. And this is just a pumpkin!!! I'll save seeds though. :)"
"So Yoda... why did you put so much detail on him? I should have stuck with Mr. Morrison. That would have saved me couple hours! Just doing the outline is pain in a butt."
"Is there a better way to do it? Because I'm not crazy about the idea of sticking a needle into the pumpkin one million times!"
"Tell you what, took me quite a while to finish the whole thing :) This one was tough, that's for sure. Oh, by the way -"
"Super glue is a wonderful thing... it not only glues fingers together in seconds, but can also fix a pumpkin. :) And my old, all time favorite sneakers too."
"So, here is the result!!!"
