Most Accurate 2006:
Thomas Goodhue
The most particular pumpkin purists might take issue with Tom's use of fake pumpkins for these colorful jack-o-lanterns. But there's no denying their sharp cuts and bold impact.
"I did them with the Michael's brand foam pumpkins. They carve great and I have done a lot of them. I carve them with X-Acto blades and that is why they come out so crisp looking with sharp detail."
"Usually, I will re-size a stencil to maximize the carving area. I'll scan it in and resize according to how much area I have. The Frankenstein I did was HUGE! It came out great and on Halloween night you could see him lit up from the next block away."
But Tom doesn't limit himself to foam gourds. He also showed his accuracy skill with some real pumpkins. With such a wide array of detailed designs, this collection is a sure winner.
"I like carving using both kinds of pumpkins, they both give you a unique feel and each has its own strengths in giving detail to display."

"I am particularly proud of my Oogie Boogie set, not that the designs themselves were particularly difficult, but for the first time I carved them on pumpkins that I grew myself in my own back yard."

Most Accurate Runner Up 2006:
Tabitha McMonagle
Davy Jones was among the most difficult designs for 2006, and Tabitha's attempt was one of the best examples of evenly rendered tentacles. You can just hear their squishy sliminess.

Most Accurate Runner Up 2006:
Belli
Belli did more than a dozen detailed designs, with this Lock, Shock and Barrel being one of the more complex creations. Tiny eyes, noses, and finger tips. They're all there.
