Cream of the Crop 2004:
Dadja

What kind of effort wins the top prize? Creating 20 jack-o-lanterns? Decorating your whole yard? Cleanly carving a wide variety of designs? Growing your own crazy pumpkins? Carving a special tribute pumpkin? Well, Dadja did it all.

"In Belgium it's not that big yet, but for 5 years I've been a bit of a pioneer when it comes to Halloween. This year again, with a small gathering for about 15 people. I turned a house and a garden completely upside down and carved pumpkins until my fingers bled! Well not really, but I did have a sore thumb. Let's start with the scenery. My garden had a pumpkin field and a cemetery."

"But what everyone is interested in are the pumpkins!"

"The pumpkins were all home-grown, and since I used seeds of my pumpkins of last year I had the weirdest pumpkins ever, I planted all the same seeds and had like 5 different kinds of pumpkins, the most strange ones looked more like a huge zucchini than a pumpkin."

"I spent two whole days doing nothing but carving! (I had some help, I'm only human) But the results were 20 brilliant pumpkins!"

"With of course special thanks to Ryan. Thanks for the amazing patterns this year, I think I went a bit overboard, but the results were great."
