2005 News Archive!

11/21/05 - Got an extra pumpkin laying around? Need a centerpiece for your Thanksgiving feast? Then I've got a couple turkeys you can carve! The Classic Turkey pumpkin pattern is an iconic holiday image that even grandma will find charming.

And for you sickos that like a touch of twisted humor in every holiday, take a swing at Gobbler's Revenge. Also a perfect design for you strict vegetarians. This year the turkey farmer better watch his own neck!

11/04/05 - This week a portion of Zombie Pumpkin's proceeds was donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Katrina relief. There was an impressive response to this charity campaign, so I thank you all for your generosity this season. Below you can read the reply from the Red Cross:

"Thank you for your generous gift to the American Red Cross in response to Hurricane Katrina. Your donation makes it possible for the Red Cross to help Hurricane Katrina victims with critical needs such as shelter, food, clothing, counseling and other assistance. It's because of your gift in response to Hurricane Katrina that our response can be immediate.

Your generous support means the most to the families who rely on Red Cross to help them through some of the most difficult times of their lives.

Please continue to visit us at http://www.RedCross.org to see how we're using your Hurricane Katrina donation to make a difference, and for the most current disaster updates and stories about the people being helped.

10/31/05 - This Unique Creation is prepared to scare more than crows. Guardian of the Zombie Pumpkins, it's the Patch Master. To all my members that have been so patient with the slow loading site, consider this last minute stencil my gift to you. Happy Halloween!

10/31/05 - Because the basic Jack Skellington face seems to be so popular, I thought I'd offer a new variation. The pumpkin king, now with a sinister grin.

And to potential members still not sure what this is all about, go grab yourself one of the Freakish Freebies! The latest arrival goes by the name Horton.

10/28/05 - The rules for this years carving challenge are now posted on the Creepy Contests page. If you participated last year, the guidelines may sound familiar. But with the growing legion of zombie carvers (and the promise of more prizes) I have a feeling competition will be fierce. Lets see your best pumpkin pics!

10/26/05 - Another grizzled character has got his eye on the Heroic Headliners page. From the upcoming film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire comes this eccentric teacher, Mad-Eye Moody.

10/25/05 - The early bird may get the worm, but the worms get the real treat. This corpse would be rolling in his grave if he knew what kind of creepies were crawling in his skull. Worm Food is now available on the Unique Creations page.

10/23/05 - Welcome to all you Connecticut residents finding your way here after reading today's feature in The Herald Press. For those outside CT, this article is archived in my Peculiar Press section (with photos). Thanks for the great write up Jen!

And hello to all the new members from the UK as well. I'm assuming this increase of pumpkinheads from across the pond is due to the fact that ZombiePumpkins.com was named the website of the day during a Friday broadcast on BBC Radio 2. Cheers!

10/22/05 - What's this witch got cooking on the Unique Creations page? Eye of Newt, and toe of frog. Wool of bat, and tongue of dog. For a charm of powerful trouble, like a hell-broth boil and bubble!

10/20/05 - Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills. You know, like nunchuck skills, bowhunting skills, pumpkin carving skills. So why don't you just print out this Napoleon Dynamite pumpkin stencil already, GOSH! It took me like three hours to finish the shading on the upper lip.

10/19/05 - No more Mr. Nice Guy. Shock rocker Alice Cooper is finally on the Rock Gods page, ready to run his greasy fingers up your greasy spine. Welcome to his nightmare!

10/18/05 - Someone has taken their love of scary movies one step too far. Scream's Ghostface is calling you from the Movie Monsters page. Give his pumpkin pattern a stab before he guts you.

10/17/05 - Thank you, but our pumpkin is in another castle. It's time to get back to your roots, with these classic NES characters. Mario is here to defend the Mushroom Kingdom from his arch rival Bowser.

10/16/05 - The Freaky Forum is finally alive! This is your chance to chat with like-minded zombie goons and pumpkin freaks. Talk about your carving techniques, decorating ideas, party plans or any other spooky topic.

A testimonial page has also been added to the site. If you're still debating whether or not to become a Zombie Pumpkins! member, maybe these comments will give you the confidence to become one of us!

10/14/05 - "We've come for your daughter Chuck." The ghost with the most is now among Burton's Nightmars. And he's taken the form of a snake for this pumpkin carving. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!

10/13/05 - Zombie Pumpkins! magnets are now for sale in the Sickening Store, along with a Treat Pack that includes a sticker, button, and stencil. Snatch 'em up before we run out and have to turn off the porch light.

10/11/05 - The Movie Monsters page has gone to the dogs, with this rabid stencil. There is a new name for terror: Cujo. Get your paws on this pumpkin pattern before it's too late.

10/10/05 - To conquer fear you must become fear. And there is something out there in the darkness, something terrifying, something that will not stop until it gets revenge... Batman.

10/08/05 - You can't have a vampire slayer without any vampires. Spike is now available as a pumpkin stencil. That's a design you can sink your teeth into.

10/07/05 - In every generation, there is a chosen one. And this one knows a sucker when she sees one. Buffy the Vampire Slayer gets a stake in the Television Terrors page.

10/05/05 - After years of retirement, it's time for a legendary crime fighter to leap back into action. Mr. Incredible dons a pumpkin pattern disguise on the Kreatures for Kids page.

10/03/05 - The amazing chocolatier is now on the Burton's Nightmares page. He's the one that you're about to meet. He's a genius who just can't be beat. The magician and the chocolate whiz. The best darn guy who ever lived. Willy Wonka, here he is!

09/30/05 - Get your joysticks ready for a new category of pumpkin patterns. The Pixelated Players page will feature some of your favorite video game characters. The first digital demons available are a Dwarf and Orc, representatives from World of Warcraft's two warring factions.

09/26/05 - An eccentric, cigar-smoking patriarch joins the Television Terrors page. He's creepy and he's kooky. Mysterious and spooky. He's altogether together ooky. It's Gomez Addams.

09/23/05 - There's been a grave misunderstanding among Burton's Nightmares. To celebrate the release of Tim Burton's Corpse Bride (in theaters today), four new stencils rise to the occasion: Victor, Corpse Bride, Maggot, and Bonejangles.

09/21/05 - Look who just flew in for a visit on the Unique Creations page. It's Uncle Vlad! Everyone has a crazy uncle that drives them batty, right? Although, yours probably doesn't sleep in a coffin and drink blood.

09/19/05 - Evil sorceress Maleficent has just transformed herself into a fire-spewing dragon. Any prince brave enough to do battle should head over to the Kreatures for Kids page. Don't forget your sword and shield.

09/16/05 - Now charging up the Rock Gods page is the Zombot, recognizable from Rob Zombie's stage show and merchandise. If a dead pumpkin can come back to life as a zombie, I don't see why a mechanical robot couldn't do the same.

And for the legion of pumpkin heads wanting to help spread the panic, check out the new Zombie Pumpkins! fliers available for printing on the Disgusting Downloads page.

09/14/05 - The first monster of the season is giving the Unique Creations page quite a Tongue Lashing. You better keep your trick-or-treat candy away from this beast. My guess is that lollipops are his favorite.

09/12/05 - Lock your doors, turn out the lights, and grip your knife firmly in hand, because... here they grow again! Your favorite undead farm crops are back with an all new website for the Halloween 2005 season. Avoid the hypnotic eye or risk falling under the Curse of the Zombie Pumpkins!

Thanks to all that voted on the t-shirt poll. While black tees are a Halloween staple, charcoal grey shirts also proved to be quite popular. This vibrant new t-shirt design is available for order on the Sickening Store page. And check out those battery powered LED light-sticks too. Previous shirts are cheaper than ever, and even more goodies will be available soon!

Also new this year is the Peculiar Press page. Plenty of media reports to keep you informed on the growing plague of the Zombie Pumpkins!

08/26/05 - It's almost that time again, my fiends. Can't you smell that zombie pumpkin stench already?! I've been slaving away in my secret laboratory, creating monsters for the upcoming season.
