As we now know, the correct answer to this year's title guessing game was....
HOUSE of the ZOMBIE PUMPKINS!
First guessed by matspud on August 11. So I have to ask matspud, was it just a random guess? Or did you have solid clues that made you guess that? I know some of the last minute clues were more obvious, but thinking back to August 11, do you remember your initial thought process?
Some of you were lead astray by red herrings, but some were sort of on the right track with thoughts of mansions, crypts and mausoleums. Ultimately I wanted to go with a run down haunted house, like you mind find in any neighborhood.
To clue you in along the way, I tried to speak with lots of words related to houses. Some more abstract than others. Some examples of things I posted...
I've been keeping it sort of low key with the sneak peeks so far, but it's time to start driving you all up the wall by teasing with cropped images showing only pieces of designs.
This ghastly grim facade will be the face of the 2014 Zombie Pumpkins!
Eek, no more time to lounge around. I really have to commit to this year's theme, polish the new layout, and add more pumpkin patterns to the library.
I've just been working feverishly behind locked doors. But here's another peek for ya. The logo will soon be getting a fresh coat of paint.
A peek of some new t-shirts, available soon to hang beside those skeletons in your closet.
A rebuilt website, more pumpkin patterns and new products appearing in September!
I won’t have trouble thinking of site themes down the road, that’s for sure! Every year I’m floored with how many good title ideas you’re all able to dream up! Not much longer to wait, we’re in the home stretch!
I was tempted to use even more obvious puns, but I didn't want to be too obvious. Many of those other "house" puns eventually got used in the
About page.
Hope you all had fun guessing. And congrats matspud for winning the game. I'll be in touch about your prize.
In my mind, I think I may be narrowing in on the theme for 2015 already.
But no guessing until after this Halloween is over. We have a house to enjoy first.
