I can't begin to imagine how many days of carving was involved to produce an incredible display such as that. Absolutely fantastic, certainly worthy of having a television crew to cover the event! Absolutely brilliant, well done! :D :D :D :D :D :!:

Some info on how I get this done each year!

Postby tearls70 » Wed Nov 02, 2011 10:10 am

To get the display done on time and so large it takes some help. There are 2 of us on a daily basis that work on the pumpkins for 6 days straight. This year we had high school students come and help us gut the pumpkins which was helpful because it cut our gutting time in half! We gutted for 2 days, put patterns on for 2 days and it stayed cold enough that we were able to carve for 2 days without them going bad! Our goal this year was to carve 200 pumpkins like we did last year, so when we exceeded that total we were excited. Every pumpkin is real (my fakes are in the house, which there's another 30!) A local news crew did come out this year and the display was aired on tv 6 times on 2 channels!

This is incredible! And my mom thinks I am crazy! I had 32 or so in my yard (20 foamies and the rest real and all but 2 carved by me)! My hat is off to you!
