http://twitpic.com/6xtawy WEIGHT: 36 lbs

http://twitpic.com/6xttnb weights left to right

39 lbs, 36 lbs, ...& the small one 28 lbs

http://twitpic.com/6xtxbt WEIGHT : 38LBS
so 177 lbs total

(that wasn't all of them just the pictured ones)

small? compared to last year yes, though these are a good size, the uk supermarket crop will be dire this year & they'll be paying £2.00 for something that weighs 5 or so lbs...
early bird n'all that!

Those look to be some big monsters! Great choices to be victims of your carving tool. Also, one of the pictures reminds me of that scene from Twilight Zone with the gremlin outside the window on the plane wing. ;)

No, very poor this year they're only mostly that size  there are some extra large supermarket ones that are smaller, check out Lidls shortly.
i'll pick up a bag of throw aways next time i'm there.
saw a squash that must have been 2 foot tall though! ..BIG, that's fen soil for you.

(incidentally those sweetcorn are humungeous, not tiddly ones & the boot is a merc A class, we went to pick them up in a Landrover & 6 filled the boot arranged carefully)

another few trips to go, PB best be quick!

They do look nice Gus. Think of it as cutting down on waste. If they are too big I always feel bad that i'm only carving a couple of patterns into them. Do you have any idea of weight?
Just think of the people who have no choice but to get supermarket kins. Maybe all us UK forumites should set up a pumpkin farm.
They're coming to get you, Barbara!

people only go to supermarkets as that's what they are used to doing, (dumb humans).
There are plenty of pumpkin farms about if we bother to research.
i'll weigh the kins & report in another day, ..the only time i'll go near a set of scales is for my pumpkins ((coward))

Very nice Gus, you'll have no trouble fitting patterns on them, you might even need to enlarge some of the patterns for a good fit, imagine that :D

yes i'm speed ((bad)) carving one of my favourites as it requires a wide kin, ..i'd take more time but it's needed in a hurry to get the ball rolling..

"dark imaginings"..

love the logo, love the gothika!

CB that's one for you I think! esp with your tombstones.
