This is my cheap (free) alternative to contacts. I'm keeping an eye (no pun intended) out for smaller spoons, not that I mind the bug-eyed look.

I drilled a hole in the middle to see out of and drew on them with a sharpie.

Open up really wide and push them in a bit. They stick there really easily between my eyebrow and cheek.
Like a pair of monocles.

Awesome! You could always use a bit of double sided carpet tape to keep them on as well.
