I'm not looking to alter what I see, but what the world sees, Thanks for the tip though.
Understood! I wish more people could find great patterns sites like you and Ryan more easily, without being hidden by the generic crap.

I reported this to the sub reddit mods, but since it has already been uploaded to Imgur it will be difficult to get down. :(

My question
Dear ferrarigirl100,

Hi You appear to be offering pumpkins carved with Zombiepumpkins.com patterns. If you read the terms and conditions when you purchase your pattern membership , you will clearly see that this not acceptable.

her response

Dear matspud,

How disappointing to receive an email such as this! I have been given some patterns and pictures by a friend in good faith. You have made a HUGE assumption that the intention was to make money and keep the proceeds - in fact a percentage of any money made was going to be given to a local children's hospice (wholly dependent upon any take up of my advert which is why it is not mentioned as I would not intend to mislead people by promising such or gain sympathy from such a statement). I understand your intention is honorable HOWEVER making assumptions about people when all you base your comments on is an advert is astoundingly misguided. Hope you find a better use for your time - perhaps challenging your energies in to volunteering for a local charity?

My problem is that she shows the thumbnails from the website, including this years minion. Therefore she knows about the site and is capable of reading the rules. Also I don't think I make any assumptions apart from the fact that she maybe paid Ryan for his patterns - which does not seem to be the case. All I do is state that the use of the patterns is not allowed. Finally - if it is all above board why did she remove my question :? :? :? :? All sounds a bit fishy to me.

Ok, I couldn't let it go :? :? - my response

Dear Ferrarrigirl, I am sorry you were so offended by my comment. I was just trying to warn you that the material you are using is copyrighted. The ONLY assumption I made was that you possibly paid the designer for his patterns. The fact that you got the patterns from a friend ( like many others) can lead to issues of copyright infringement. The use of thumbnails from the website gave the impression that you know of the source of the patterns. I commend your attempts to raise money for good causes and I suggest you get in touch with Ryan at ZombiePumpkins to discuss the use of his patterns in this venture. Good luck with your fundraising and have a spooktacular Halloween.

Sounds like the ole' sanctimonious 'oh, you are being mean to me when I am trying to help the little chil'rens'. Hey lady, there are a lot of other ways to help children than selling copyrighted materials on eBay without permission. Cause you know so many charities operate like that. (Which I highly doubt you are doing anyway, stinks like a big ole' pooey lie).

I think I was just surprised at the tone of her response, it just seemed a little over the top. A simple "oh I didn't know I will do something about it" would have been reasonable. It seems to be a case of "methinks she protest too much" Also I don't understand why she wouldn't mention the charity in the listing, people are far more likely to spend money if they think some , if not all, is going to charity. It makes them feel good. Its not like she is rattling a tin in their faces and forcing them to buy something or feel guilty. Oh well :?

Yeah, the super over defensive tone is what got me. It seems like she threw in the charity part just to make you feel bad and to possibly make you back off. Sometimes people suck.
