I couldn't figure out where to post this, so I hope it's okay!

I had a pumpkin that I never got around to carving last year, and it sat, in my living room, until April with no signs of softness or rot (it was amazing!) - then another photographer asked me to participate in a photo project about Cinderella! You can bet I knew that the pumpkin was going to be involved.

You can view all of my photos from the project here on my blog

and you can view all of of the photographers who participated in this link (I am the only one to use pumpkins - YES!!!)

This is my favorite image from the Cinderella photos - of course, with the pumpkin!

I'm glad you posted this here, Lala.  I looked at the other photographers work too, and maybe I'm biased because you used a REAL pumpkin, but I liked yours best.  :)

A lot of Cinderella images out there seem to focus on the post-transformation princess look.  But an important part of her story is her time slaving away for her her step-mother and step-sisters.  After all, she got her name from cleaning the cinders... and you show that well with your stone hearth setting.  What a perfect backdrop for the shoot!  The props are great too... the mouse, the bucket, the broom, the costume.

And then of course the appearance of the fairy godmother to magically transform her clothes and pumpkin (she sure seems to love that giant pumpkin in the photo).  I like how your treatment of the photos also matches the story.  The first half of the set has a grungy border like cinders... and the final princess photos have a magical glow to them.
