Is it okay to use Sarel paper to transfer your pattern before you gut or does the residue from the guts wipe off the pattern? Has anyone tried this how did it work for you?

Thanks,

Good question. Depends how messy of a gutter you are. You might be able to get away with transferring first. The Saral transfer holds up quite well... until it gets wet. So be warned there...

If you think you may get guts on the outside, or handle the outside of the pumpkin vigorously while gutting (all quite possible) it may be safer to transfer after gutting.

Or maybe try that fixative method mentioned above, if transferring before gutting is deemed necessary as a time saving measure for your carving flow.

I'm not sure if they have that stuff in Canada i've never seen it for sale here before. Maybe i'll just tape a plastic bag over it and see how that works. Wish me luck :D
