Who else loves this show?

For those who are in the dark...

Oddities is a television show that airs on the Discovery channel. It is about a store called Obscura Antiques & Oddities. It is an amazing and unique store. It deals with strange and bizarre items and often the people fall under similar categories as the treasures.

I am borderline obsessed with a customer that frequents Obscura...his name is Edgar. I want him to be my friend :D Here is a little snippet that shows him, he is a truly unique and intriguing gentleman. I bet I could just listen to him read off a grocery list and I would be fully entertained,

If you watch the show what has been your favorite moment/treasure?

Mine is Edgar...100% Edgar. I am going to make a t-shirt I swear.

I've caught a minute or two of this show, but somehow have missed the chance to really sit down and watch a full episode. This Edgar guy... wow, even in this short clip, where he didn't say too much... I'm so intrigued, I have to see more. Time to set the DVR to record.

Youtube "Edgar Oliver," but you cannot have him, he is mine :) He is a stage and film actor, poet, performance artist and playwright. An enticing individual!

Ah, cool. Well without knowing too much about his work at this point, I can say that Edgar's voice is great. Such a subdued and yet theatrical way of speech. Fitting for any Halloween narration that one might need (I'd try to hire him to do voiceover for me, but you already claimed him).

The ideas of antiques and oddities are also well suited to Halloween, and right up your alley, CorpseBride. I'll give the concept of this show 2 thumbs up... and pickled in a jar on the shelf.

Hmmmm well I suppose I may be able to let you borrow him...just for a little bit though.

And yes, definitely up my alley. If I ever make it to NY (I want to some day) I will absolutely be stopping by there. Apparently there is a store that is very similar to Obscura in Seattle as well. Much more within reach.

looks like a great show. I will have to try and watch it. Edgar is superb, that voice was meant for horror films.

I'll keep an eye out for it, sounds interesting. Does anyone know if it's screened in the UK or if it's coming over at all?
