Hi Folks Due to work I ran short on time for pumpkin carving the last month...äh years. Last thing I did was to buy a Dremel and some Fun-Kins after reading the "How To" post in this section. Time went by an I did not touch the stuff again until now. I want to return to the patch and sacrifice some ...
Being one of the lucky winners of the 2008 contest I want to thank all of you for the nice comments. For me it is really inspiring and a true honor to carve among such a great community of like-minded people.
Best regards to all of you ,

Hi Crystal
I like the whole setting! The body of the scarecrow looks great. I can easily imagine the pumpkin head up there.

You are absolutely right! The groove tracks really are a problem. Thats why I use these "clay tools" (the slings) to finisch the larger parts I have scraped away: http://www.craftmill.co.uk/WebRoot/Store/Shops/CraftMill/470F/8099/625A/52DC/DFD4/D9AE/F0F5/7885/pottery_0020_model_0020_tools_0020_set.j...

These are some very sharp blades ro carve linoleum
I started on 2008-10-20 this year. Since Halloween is not such a big deal here in Germany (which does indeed frustrate me !!) I do the carvings for my own plesure and for the people passing by. But there is hope! I am already known throughout my village for my Halloween-Displays and I observe a risi...
Thanks once again for the kind comments. In the meantime (between my last post and this one) I have completed two more motives: http://images40.fotki.com/v1370/photos/2/237207/6847553/TheJoker-vi.jpg http://images43.fotki.com/v1330/photos/2/237207/6847553/ToothFairy-vi.jpg Sooo... 10 completed... 4 ...
Thanks folks for all the nice replys !!
Up to my experience the motives/pumpkins last longest if I do not cut "all the way through". For this reason I usually just remove about 0,5cm of the outer pumpkin surface. A side effect of this technique is, that it is possible to accentuate spots of the patterns that are supposed to be very bright...
Hi there! Here is what I've carved so far. I hope to complete 14 motives this year  Be warned... this year I really harvested some sick pumpkins  http://images42.fotki.com/v1363/photos/2/237207/6847553/IMG_7749-vi.jpg http://images40.fotki.com/v1336/photos/2/237207/6847553/Zombie2-vi.jpg ...
Hi Zombiepumpkins, hi Kittie Sorry for the delayed reply. As you (I suppose) I had lots of preparations to finalize for my Halloween-Party  . The sad thing is, since I had a business travel to do the next day (starting 5:00 a.m.) I had to clean up the front garden (removing tombstones, corpses...
