I can totally relate my ex wife could not stand my "obsession with halloween if I bought more than one pumpkin,or put out one decoration more than she thought was reasonable I would hear about it till christmas,my girlfriend on the other hand is so great she even helped me decorate a christmas tree ...

I had heard about using a sawsall or jigsaw to cut the tops off Ihad never tried it till this year works like a charm I would not try it on a stencil way to fast to control but on the cirle around the stem it is a dream ,20 pumpkins in less than 5 minutes gutting them was a different story :D

smaller pumpkins have thinner meat means less scrapping thinner walls make a better carving
