I actually let my 7 year old daughter carve the Home Depot pumpkin. She just used a saw tool because she couldn't really handle a dremel and I wouldnt let her try a hot knife. Cool! I recently switched from using a versa-tool to using a dremel. So hopefully I won't have any problems carving this with a dremel. I have not graduated to using patterns with shading yet, so I have no idea how these would work for shading.
So, I ended up buying one to test it out. I will let everyone know how it goes when I actually find some time to carve it!
Home Depot is currently selling 12 inch carvable foam pumpkins for $8.85. Has anyone tried these? Thanks for the input. I think I might just get a Dremel, I'm sure I can find a bunch of other uses for it anyways.

I just started using the Versa Tool on Michaels pumpkins and so far it has been great. The only problem that I have been having is cutting really short lines that are smaller than the width of the blade. If I just let the cut go past the ends of the line will it not be noticeable?
